Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2 years of experience preferred.
• LPT license with Alabama Board registry as Pharmacy Technician required.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPT) required.
• IV training within 180 days required.
• Comparable education/experience may substitute for requirements.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with hospital staff daily using written and oral skills.
• Access the Hospital Information System via computer.
• Maintain and operate pharmacy equipment; report issues.
• Restock medications and supplies around the hospital.
• Adhere to HIPAA and organizational policies; ethical conduct.
• Perform aseptic technique for sterile compounding and calculate doses.
• Maintain licenses and PTCB/NHA certifications.
• Trainer duties: develop training plans for new hires and assess progress.
