Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist Pharmacists with dispensing and distribution of medications. The role involves handling IV sterile products, unit-dose preparation, inventory control and operating automated dispensing devices.

The position is part-time, 2nd shift, on-site at Voorhees, NJ. HS/GED is required and technicians must pursue state board registration within 180 days of hire.

Qualifications

• HS graduate or GED required.
• Pharmacy technicians must apply to the Board for registration within 10 days of hire. The Board will provide the registration within 180 days.

Responsibilities

• Assists Pharmacist in the overall dispensing and distribution functions.
• Performs various technical and non-technical duties related to the acquisition, storage and dispensing of medications.
• Prepares medications and fills orders as written/prescribed under the supervision of Pharmacist.
• Performs medication exchanges, pick-ups and deliveries.
• Demonstrates knowledge of IV sterile products preparation.
• Prepare unit dose medication from bulk packaging.
• Performs inventory management and documentation.
• Maintains automated dispensing devices.
• Perform medication area inspections.
