Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX seeks a part-time Pharmacy Technician to work rotating days and evenings with weekend requirements. The role involves extemporaneous compounding, IV admixtures, and ensuring accurate medication processing in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Requires high school diploma, at least 1 year of pharmacy tech experience, Texas Board of Pharmacy license for a Pharmacy Technician, and BLS certification upon hire.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year experience in pharmacy or as a technician.
• Licenses and Certifications (TSBP) REG PHARMACY TECHNICIAN Upon Hire and Basic Life Support Certification, course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) Upon Hire

Responsibilities

• Performs job responsibilities in accordance with organizational and departmental policies, procedures, performance improvement objectives and environmental and infection control standards.
• Coordinates daily workflow in assigned area and provides leadership to other technicians. Performs extemporaneous compounding and prepares IV admixtures.
• Accepts duties as knowledge and training resource and works to improve these areas.
• Accurately fills all orders, floor stock, and fill lists; performs IV calculations and prepares IV admixtures.
• Provides prompt and courteous service and handles incoming calls prioritizing by urgency.
• Audits and signs out all controlled substances in accordance with guidelines and reports discrepancies.
