Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Six months of experience assisting with filling medical prescriptions under a licensed Pharmacist.
• Six months of experience may be substituted by PTCB certification or ASHP-accredited program diploma.
• Working knowledge of receiving, storing, and issuing pharmaceutical supplies.
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and to perform physical tasks.

Aufgaben

• Fill unit dose carts and prepare IV admixtures.
• Screen telephone calls for pharmacists and screen orders from nursing units.
• Direct drug orders to pharmacists and fill orders for IV sets, solutions, toiletries, and food supplies.
• Deliver pharmaceuticals to nursing units.
• Replenish and charge ward stock items.
• Restock dispensing areas and assist pharmacist with compounding; repackage bulk supplies.
• Maintain and clean equipment used in Pharmacy and perform light housekeeping.
