Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support licensed pharmacists in the Christ Medical Center Pharmacy. The role involves accurate preparation, labeling, and distribution of medications, including hazardous drugs and controlled substances, with rotating AM/PM shifts.

Hospital experience is required and IV experience is preferred. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and pursue required state licensure and a CPhT or ExCPT certificate within 18 months of starting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Registration or licensure with the state board of pharmacy as applicable.
• CPHT or ExCPT certification within 18 months from start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed pharmacist with preparation and distribution of medications.
• Select, prepare, and label medications including hazardous drugs and controlled substances.
• Assist with medication distribution and inventory control.
• Screen calls and route using proper etiquette.
• Perform nonsterile compounding and IV admixture following USP standards.
• Maintain storage areas and document medication admissions as applicable.
