Part-Time Instructor Position

Summary: An instructor facilitates meaningful learning of the course competencies in the curriculum and proactively supports all facets of the learning environment. They provide education through excellence in learning-centered instruction to enable graduates to meet the evolving needs of the marketplace. The instructor fosters a culture of learning that values mutual responsibility, respect, lifelong learning, ethics, and personal and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Designs and delivers class instruction for both residential and blended formats, developing instructional plans to meet course competencies and activities to support lesson objectives.
• Ensures students achieve predefined exit competencies through effective instruction, establishing performance criteria and evaluation methods.
• Creates an engaging learning environment conducive to student success, whether online, blended, or in-person, with thorough planning and preparation.
• Provides weekly feedback to students, including comprehensive mid-term feedback and support for struggling students.
• Supports student success by demonstrating flexibility, passion for teaching, and engaging students actively in learning.
• Maintains accurate records, manages attendance, submits grades and reports timely, and enforces academic and attendance policies.
• Participates in faculty, departmental, and school-wide meetings regularly.
• Contributes to campus service by participating in at least one special project committee annually.
• Relates professional and industry experience to coursework, staying updated on industry trends and integrating industry perspectives into teaching.
• Responds to program-related questions impacting curriculum and attends Program Advisory Committee meetings annually.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Current registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy or National Pharmacy Tech Certification (PTCB or NHA).
• Minimum of 4 years of in-field pharmacy experience.
• At least 2 years of hospital and sterile compounding experience, with ACPE IV/Sterile Compounding Certification preferred.
• Pharmacy tech program graduate; teaching experience is a plus but not mandatory.
