Job summary

The MetroHealth System in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmaceutical care across inpatient and specialty pharmacies under the supervision of a Pharmacist.

You will assist with medication distribution, prepare and verify orders, participate in quality control for drug distribution technologies, and help deliver take-home medications to patients, while upholding the system’s mission and customer service standards.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
• 18 years of age or older with no felony convictions, per Ohio Revised Code 4729.42.
• PTCB certification or ExCPT certification required within 90 days of hire; maintains certification.
• Currently registered as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy; maintains active registration throughout employment.
• Currently registered as a Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy and becomes a registered Certified Pharmacy Technician within 90 days of hire; maintains active registration throughout employment.
• Willingness and ability to travel to external satellite locations, including access to reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of a Pharmacist, performs a wide variety of duties in the delivery of pharmaceutical care in the specialty pharmacies and inpatient pharmacy.
• Delivers medication related services to in-house patients and related take home medication services.
• Assists Pharmacists in performing quality control procedures for drug distribution technologies.
• Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
