Overview:

Sentara Leigh Hospital is hiring a Pharmacy Technician Trainee for the Inpatient Pharmacy!

Location: Norfolk, VA

Status: Flexi (15 hrs/wk)

Shift: Rotating

Hours: 6am-11pm

Weekends: Every Other Weekend

Holiday Rotation

The Pharmacy Tech Trainee performs care delivery and dispensing under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.

• Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
• Triages and escalates questions or issues outside the technician's scope as needed
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
• Maintains quality assurance according to departmental and legal standards
• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately
• Enrollment in an approved pharmacy technician training program or Guild Program and certification as a technician-in-training within 30 days of hire is required
• Must register as a pharmacy technician-in-training in the state of practice
• Other duties may be assigned as needed

Education:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Certification/Licensure:

• Virginia Pharmacy Tech Trainee License (Required)

Experience:

• Pharmacy Experience (Preferred)
