Job summary

Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina, seeks a Pharmacy Technician III to support the pharmacy team with duties related to procurement, preparation, distribution and safe medication use. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with accredited pharmacy technician-training program.
• Pharmacy technician certification from PTCB or ExCPT.
• North Carolina Board of Pharmacy registration is required.
• Minimum of two years of pharmacy technician experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate technician staff and activities and/or take responsibility for advanced duties.
• Provide leadership and supervision for the technician group.
• Review and update policy and procedure documents for technician functions.
• Assure compliant and safe technician work practices per regulations and unit standards.
• Screen, interview and recommend technician applicants for employment.
• Develop training materials and ensure training of all technicians.
• Assist in staff development and skills maintenance activities.
• Oversee supply chain management and inventory control procedures.
