Job summary

Duke Health's Pharmacy Technician III role is an on-site position at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC. The technician coordinates staff across levels I-III, ensures safe medication use, and maintains compliance with state and federal rules while supporting clinical pharmacy services.

The role requires NC pharmacy registration and PTCB/ExCPT certification, with leadership responsibilities for daily operations and staff development within the department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus accredited pharmacy technician-training program.
• Acceptance into pharmacy school is acceptable.
• One year of pharmacy or health care related experience is also acceptable.
• College coursework in business/management or position-specific advanced coursework is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform all levels I & II technician duties under supervision.
• Provide leadership and supervision for technician group.
• Review and update policy and procedure documents.
• Ensure compliant and safe technician work practices per regulations.
• Screen, interview and recommend technician applicants.
• Develop training materials and assure training of all technicians.
• Manage technician scheduling and daily job functions.
• Complete time and attendance records for payroll.
• Oversee supply chain management and inventory control.
