Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Pharmacy Technician III to assist a registered pharmacist with dispensing support activities, including collecting, inputting, and verifying prescription information, stocking supplies, labeling, and preparing routine prepacked orders.

This PRN, on-site role requires a high school diploma with 1 year experience, SCBOP registration, PTCB certification, and may prefer sterile compounding experience; scheduled weekly hours are 12.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1 year experience.
• Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the SC Board of Pharmacy (SCBOP) and national certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) and must be maintained.
• At least 2 years of pharmacy technician experience and sterile compounding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists a registered pharmacist with dispensing support activities and processes.
• Collects, inputs, and verifies prescription, refill, and patient information.
• Receives and stocks incoming supplies.
• May prepare labels and routine prepacked orders.
• May perform some clerical duties relating to the department.
