Job summary

The Pharmacy Technician III at Medical University Hospital Authority assists a registered pharmacist with dispensing medications, collecting and verifying prescriptions, and stocking supplies. You may prepare labels, prepacked orders, and perform light clerical tasks.

Qualifications include high school diploma or GED with 1 year of experience; current SCBOP registration and PTCB certification; 2+ years of pharmacy technician experience and sterile compounding preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) with 1 year experience.
  • Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the State of South Carolina Board of Pharmacy (SCBOP), and national certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) is required and must be maintained.
  • At least 2 years of pharmacy technician experience and experience in sterile compounding preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists a registered pharmacist with support activities and processes required to dispense medical prescriptions.
  • Collects, inputs, and verifies prescription, refill, and patient information.
  • Receives and stocks incoming supplies.
  • May prepare labels and routine prepacked orders.
  • May be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department.
