Job summary

HCA Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a Pharmacy Technician at Corpus Christi Medical Center.

Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, you will assist in the pharmacy department with duties such as setting up, packaging, labeling medications, and dispensing routine orders for stock supplies. Responsibilities include inventorying automated dispensing machines, maintaining inventories, and keeping patient records in strict accordance with procedures.

Qualifications

• Must have Pharmacy Technician license and be able to work under supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Familiarity with pharmacy procedures and safety protocols is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in pharmacy department activities under supervision of a pharmacist.
• Set up, package, and label medication doses for patient care areas.
• Fill and dispense routine orders for stock supplies.
• Refill and inventory automated dispensing machines and medications.
• Maintain patient records and ensure compliance with standard procedures.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Pharmacy technicians are those who, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, assists in the various activities of the pharmacy department, not requiring the professional judgment of the pharmacist. Such duties include, but need not be limited to: maintaining patient records; setting up, packaging, and labeling medication doses; filling and dispensing routine orders for stock supplies of patient care areas; refilling and inventorying automated dispensing machines, maintaining inventories of medication supplies; and mixing medications with parenteral fluids. Technicians must function in strict accordance with standard, written procedures and guidelines with deviation approved by the supervising pharmacist. Organizational relationships include being directly responsible to the Pharmacist, Operations Coordinator, and Director of Pharmacy.
