The candidate will be responsible for interpreting prescriptions, educating members on medication resources, and handling inquiries regarding medications. What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Interpret and enter moderately complex prescriptions while verifying member information
- Educate members on pharmacy-related rules and medication resources
- Process prior authorization requests and ensure compliance with Medicare and Medicaid
- Resolve grievances and appeals related to medication issues
- Respond to inquiries from patients, providers, and team members regarding medications
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Requires an active professional license or certification as a Pharmacy Technician
- Minimum educational requirement: High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 2 years of pharmacy experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency in problem-solving and analytical skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience working with electronic health records
- Basic knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid
- Prior experience in customer service, particularly talking with members on the phone
- Proficiency in multitasking while using a computer
