Job summary

Mercy Health seeks a Pharmacy Technician in Michigan to join a fast-paced team under the direction of a Registered Pharmacist.

You will prepare, package and distribute medications, maintain drug inventory, and uphold patient records while delivering courteous, timely service to patients and staff.

Hours are 5:30am–2:00pm and 2:00pm–10:30pm on a rotating shift; minimum high school education, Michigan license, and CPhT preferred. This role offers growth opportunities within Mercy Health.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pharmacy technician training program or two years college with emphasis in math, science, or medical field.
• Licensed as Pharmacy Technician in Michigan.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
• Two years of pharmacy work experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, packages, and distributes medication orders per physician request, pharmacist request, or prearranged work assignment according to established policies, procedures and protocols.
• Maintains adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established policies and procedures.
• Contributes to effective and quality operation of the department.
• Maintains logs, records, and other required files and documentation; answers telephone and pneumatic tube; and handles cash transactions.
• Prepares IV admixtures and other sterile products.

Licensed as Pharmacy Technician in Michigan

Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by PTCB
