Job summary

Advocate Health’s Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center Pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications at the Winston-Salem campus. The role offers 40 hours per week on 1st/2nd shifts, with rotating weekends, and a $6,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities include compounding, labeling, inventory management, medication screening, and data entry.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Certification through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (CPhT) or National Healthcareer Association (ExCPT).
North Carolina Board of Pharmacy registration as a pharmacy technician within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Assist licensed pharmacist in technical duties related to preparation and distribution of medications.
Accurately select, prepare, and label medications for patients including hazardous drugs and controlled substances.
Assist with medication distribution tasks.
Screen calls and route them using proper phone etiquette.
Assist in daily pharmacy procurement, inventory control, and outdate checking.
Document removal, stocking, and waste of controlled substances where applicable.
Perform nonsterile compounding per USP standards; perform sterile IV admixture where applicable.
Inspect medication storage areas for policy adherence.
Document medication histories and data entry into the pharmacy system.
