Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• License/Certifications: Current or eligible for applicable state Pharmacy Technician license; CPhT preferred.
• Experience: Six months of experience as a licensed pharmacy technician.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care by supporting pharmacists and care teams with medication storage, preparation and distribution.
• Collaborate with clinic teams and handle inbound inquiries, ensuring seamless care integration.
• Educate patients about pharmacy services and support adherence and prior authorizations as needed.
• Maintain documentation, manage data, and participate in process improvements for efficiency.
• Protect patient confidentiality and comply with all regulatory requirements.

Summary

The Pharmacy Technician II - Fulfillment role functions in an independent capacity in their respective pharmacy practice area. The Pharmacy Technician II will assist pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and the care team in the storage, handling, preparation, and distribution of medications within MaineHealth.

Triage Technicians (Technician Level I and Level II depending on previous experience) at MaineHealth work within a call center performing core functions routing patients to the correct teams within the outpatient pharmacy.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Care: Deliver exceptional care by providing a full suite of custom medication management services. Engage with patients over the phone and virtually, to support their medication needs.
• Clinic Integration: Collaborate effectively with clinic teams, including doctors, nurses, and other staff, to ensure seamless integration and coordination of care.
• Education & Support: Educate patients about our pharmacy services and how they enhance their overall care. Encourage utilization of specialty pharmacy services.
• Medication Management: Monitor medication adherence, perform outbound therapy/medication adherence check-ups, and manage refill prescriptions. Address and resolve insurance-related issues, including prior authorizations and financial assistance.
• Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate documentation, manage data using database applications, and participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
• Communication: Provide timely and effective communication with the clinical care team members and fulfillment staff and handle inbound inquiries professionally.
• Process Development: Contribute to the development of new processes to improve patient care and operational workflows, under the oversight of the Workflow Committee
• Confidentiality: Ensure patient information is kept confidential and protected.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• License/Certifications: Current or eligible for applicable state(s) license as a Pharmacy Technician. Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is preferred.
• Experience: Six months of experience as a licensed pharmacy technician.

The pay range for this position is $21.09to $27.12 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
