Job summary

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician at the Bermuda Run Pharmacy in Davie Medical Center. The role is full-time days, Monday through Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm, with holiday rotation and a $6,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.

You will assist licensed pharmacists with medication prep, labeling, and distribution, maintain inventory, and support third-party billing and documentation as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or ExCPT certification.
• State board registration or licensure per state requirements.
• Typically around 1 year of related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists licensed pharmacist with technical duties in prep and distribution of medications.
• Selects, prepares and labels medications for patients including hazardous drugs and controlled substances.
• Assists with medication distribution tasks.
• Screens calls and routes using proper etiquette.
• Assists in daily pharmacy procurement, inventory control, and outdate checking.
• Completes documentation for handling controlled substances; follows policies.
• Performs nonsterile compounding following USP standards where applicable.
• Performs sterile IV admixture as defined at the facility level.
• Inspects storage areas for policy adherence.
• Records medication admission histories and data entry for record keeping.
• May participate in quality improvement initiatives and training of technicians.
• Adheres to all policies and regulatory standards; supports leadership goals.
• Recognizes age-appropriate care and may obtain immunization certification if permitted.
