Job summary

Chippenham Hospital in Richmond, VA is hiring a Certified Pharmacy Technician II. You will accurately compound, fill, label, and distribute medications under a pharmacist's supervision, maintaining inventory and patient records while following safety and regulatory standards.

This role supports direct patient care across care areas, handles urgent requests, dispenses controlled substances with proper documentation, and participates in quality checks and performance improvements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• 1+ years experience as a pharmacy tech
• 3 months+ experience in product compounding

Responsibilities

• Procures and distributes medications orders per physician request, pharmacist request, or prearranged work assignment.
• Uses established policies, procedures, and protocols to fill and label medication orders and prepackage medications.
• Rounds in patient care and ancillary areas per established schedule. Delivers medications and supplies and picks up new orders and medications for return.
• Dispenses controlled substances with proper documentation; alerts pharmacist of any counting discrepancies or suspected diversions.
• Maintains logs, records, and other required documentation; files documentation in appropriate locations.
