Job summary

Mercy Hospital Stoddard in Missouri is seeking a Pharmacy Technician (PRN) to assist pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications under the supervising pharmacist. The role encompasses following federal, state and local regulations to ensure patient safety and care.

Tech II requires Missouri Board of Pharmacy registration or willingness to apply by day one, with 1 year of relevant experience (2 years preferred) and CPhT certification; Tech I/III have aligned education and

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit registration by first day of work ( fingerprint background check ).
• Experience: Tech I – 1 year preferred; Tech II – 1 year required, 2 years preferred; Tech III – 3 years required.
• Certifications: CPhT by PTCB for Tech II and Tech III.

The Pharmacy Tech II follows applicable standards and federal, state & local laws and regulations for the care and safety of the customers and patients served.

The Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications and are accountable to the supervising pharmacist who is legally responsible for the care and safety of the patients served by the pharmacy. Qualifications:

Tech I:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Experience: 1-year relevant pharmacy experience preferred but not required.
• Other: Successfully complete pharmacy department orientation.

Tech II:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Experience: 1-year relevant pharmacy experience required; 2 years preferred.
• Certifications: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).

Tech III:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.

• Experience: 3-year relevant pharmacy experience required
