Job summary

The Christ Hospital Health Network is seeking a Pharmacy Technician I to assist in the preparation and distribution of medications under the supervision of a registered pharmacist and leadership from the Pharmacy Department. Responsibilities include unit dose processing, IV admixture preparation, and cash handling at the RX window.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and preferred Pharmacy technician experience, with an Ohio State Board of Pharmacy approved exam or PTCB/CPhT

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Pharmacy technician experience preferred.
• PTCB/CPhT certification or approved examination by Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.
• Register as Technician in Training with Ohio State Board of Pharmacy; complete registration as Certified Technician after training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare medications under pharmacist supervision; unit dose filling, labeling and dispensing.
• Prepare IV admixtures using aseptic technique and label sterile products.
• Assist in outpatient area selection and cash handling at RX window; operate cash register.
• Answer phones, relay messages, and assist with paperwork for distribution of medications.
• Re-orders drugs and supplies; rotate stock and check expirations.
• Maintain department cleanliness, safety, and organization; support Pharmacists and Supervisors.
