Job summary

MSU Pharmacy seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in delivering pharmaceutical care by receiving, billing, and preparing prescriptions for pharmacist review at MSU Health. You will assist with patient interactions at the point of sale and support various technical functions to ensure efficient pharmacy operations.

Minimum requirements include completion of a pharmacy technician program and a Michigan license with national certification, plus 6 months to 1 year of pharmacy

Qualifications

• Pharmacy technician program completion required.
• Six months to one year in a pharmacy setting with computer and math skills.
• Current State of Michigan Pharmacy Technician license required.
• Certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with continuing education every two years.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists with preparing, labeling, and dispensing medications accurately.
• Process medication orders and prescriptions per procedures.
• Maintain patient and medication records in the pharmacy system.
• Handle inventory, stocking, and rotation of medications and supplies.
• Communicate with patients and providers to resolve questions.
