An established healthcare provider is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to assist in delivering an accurate and timely medication distribution system. This role is crucial in supporting clinical pharmacists and ensuring that patients receive their medications efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED and must be registered with the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy. Assists the clinical pharmacists in providing an accurate and timely medication distribution system.
Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
Registration:
Must be registered with the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician within 30 days of hire, with registration in good standing (“active”).
Certification:
Employees must obtain national certification with PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) within one year of hire. Failure to do so will result in termination, unless the employee has been accepted into a pharmacy school (proof required) and plans to enroll in the next academic year, in which case they may remain in the role until they obtain an intern license. An intern license must be provided by the end of the first semester of pharmacy school or employment will be terminated.
For initial certification, a passing paper result from the PTCB exam is considered active status for 30 days. For renewal, active status must be attained within 30 days of expiration, providing a 30-day grace period.
