Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists by dispensing medications and ensuring accurate, compliant processing and documentation. You will develop competence in the department’s information systems and automation used for dispensing and storage of medications.

The role emphasizes accuracy, attention to detail, and strong communication with nurses, physicians, and patients, with adherence to USP, state, and federal guidelines. Training provided as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develops competence in dispensing and delivery of medications, including department information systems and automation for dispensing/storage.
• Develops competence in preparing non-sterile products following USP, state, and federal recommendations.
• Develops competence in entering medication orders in the computer system and processing medication requests.
• Develops competence in managing phone calls from customers and team members (nurses, physicians, patients).
• Develops competence in pharmacy procedures and documentation, complying with legal, regulatory, and department requirements.
• Complies with legal, regulatory accreditation standards including controlled substances, USP procedures, and ACPE or regulatory requirements.
