Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid state Pharmacy Technician license; if currently on a temporary license, obtain full license within 365 days.
• Preferred: previous pharmacy experience or coursework.

Responsibilities

• Sets up, organizes and maintains work area.
• Assists pharmacists with duties such as filling containers, labeling, prepackaging, maintaining records, and stocking supplies.
• Performs pharmacy computer functions as required.
• Prepares and labels IVs, hyperalimentation solutions, chemotherapy agents, and other pharmaceutical products.
• Responds to patient admission, transfer, discharge, and processes physician orders per procedures.
• Assists in recordkeeping, billing and third-party payors, postings, remittances and adjustments.
• Assists in ordering, receiving, inspecting and stock adjustments.
• Maintains floor stock, crash carts and nursing station inspection reports.
• Assists in training pharmacy personnel.
• Participates in performance improvement activities.
• Provides for age-specific needs of the served population per department standards.
• Performs other related duties as required.
