Job summary

JobRx, Inc. is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to work under the supervision of a pharmacist to process medications requiring special handling and accountability.

The role focuses on chemotherapy preparation, dispensing support, and ensuring accurate record-keeping in a hospital setting. Qualified candidates will hold a Michigan Pharmacy Technician license and have at least one year of relevant experience, with the ability to work aseptically and in a cleanroom environment.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Requires a valid Michigan Pharmacy Technician license.
• Requires at least one year of experience as a hospital or retail pharmacy technician.
• Ability to maintain records and perform calculations.
• Ability to safely handle cytotoxic and other special drugs and work aseptically.

Responsibilities

• Under pharmacist supervision, prepares and pre-packages chemotherapy meds and other special handling drugs.
• Reads and transcribes prescription orders and prepares labels for dispensed meds.
• Maintains appropriate records of medications dispensed.
• Prepares preliminary drug therapy monitoring forms for pharmacists.
• Restocks dispensing areas and maintains clean, aseptic conditions of the hood and equipment.
• Assists in training hospital personnel on safe handling of chemotherapy and other special agents.
