Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Pontiac, MI is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II to support the pharmacist with distributive and technical tasks. Under a pharmacist's supervision, you will prepare, label and package IV and unit-dose medications and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include setup and organization of the work area, assisting in labeling, stocking, billing, and stock control, plus participation in training and performance improvement activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid state Pharmacy Technician license.
• Two years of experience as a pharmacy technician.
• Preferred: pharmacy experience or courses in pharmacy curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Sets up, organizes and maintains work area.
• Assists pharmacists and performs duties such as filling containers, labeling, prepackaging, stocking supplies.
• Performs pharmacy computer functions as required.
• Prepares and labels IVs, hyperalimentation solutions, chemotherapy agents and other products.
• Responds to patient admission, transfer, discharge and physician orders.
• Assists in billing, remittances and insurance processing.
• Orders, receives, inspects and adjusts stock.
• Maintains floor stock and records, crash carts and nursing station inspection reports.
• Participates in training pharmacy personnel and performance improvement activities.
