Job summary

Endeavor Health in Evanston, IL is hiring for Pharmacy Technician I - Inpatient to support pharmacists in dispensing and day-to-day operations. The role requires entry into prescriptions, unit-dose preparation, and coordinating with nursing staff across rotating day and evening shifts.

The position is full-time (40 hours/week) with rotating weekends/holidays and a focus on accuracy, compliance, and inventory control in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Illinois Registered Pharmacy Technician license required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred; certification within two years.
• Prior hospital/tech experience preferred; retail experience helpful for retail roles.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, fills and labels medications for final dispensing authorization by the Pharmacists.
• Prepares unit doses according to refill lists for pharmacist final authorization.
• Conducts rounds to nursing units and prepares medications for transportation rounds.
• Performs pharmacy tasks to maintain efficiency and organization.
• Assists in maintaining inventory of RX and OTC supplies.

Hourly Pay Range:

$20.29 - $31.45 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Pharmacy Technician I - Inpatient
• Location: Evanston Hospital
• Full Time (40 hours/week)
• Hours: Rotating Days/Evenings. Required to rotate Day (6am or 7am start ? 2pm -3pm) and Evening (3pm -11:30pm) shifts (8 hours shifts), rotating weekends and holidays.

?A Brief Overview:

The Pharmacy Technician I is responsible for assisting the pharmacist in dispensing and filling prescriptions. The Pharmacy Technician duties include, but are not limited to, entering prescriptions in the computer, filing prescriptions, ordering medications and over the counter items, calling third party insurance providers, and aiding the pharmacist in the day-to-day operations. The Pharmacy Technician I is also responsible for checking in orders, putting orders away (OTC, and RX), and completing end of day closing and deposit procedures.

What you will do:

• Prepares, fills and labels medications for final dispensing authorization by the Pharmacists.
• Prepares the unit dose accurately according to the refill list, for Pharmacists final authorization and fill the automated medication station in timely manner.
• Conducts rounds to nursing units according to schedule and prepares medications for transportation rounds.
• Performs various pharmacy-related tasks to help maintain pharmacy efficiency and organization.
• Assist in maintenance of pharmacy inventory of supplies and medications, (RX and OTC)

What you will need:

• License: Current Illinois Registered Pharmacy Technician required
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certification: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred; certification required within two years of initial licensure.
• Experience: Prior technician experience or hospital experience preferred. Retail experience preferred for retail positions
