Pharmacy – Inpatient

Under the direct supervision of Registered Pharmacists, the Pharmacy Technician I helps to support the basic general operations of the inpatient pharmacies. Daily tasks may include preparing and filling medication orders and medication carts, delivering and distributing medications throughout the hospital, maintaining stock levels in all areas of the hospital, performing functions within the pharmacy automation systems, and general upkeep and maintenance of the inpatient pharmacy locations. The Pharmacy Technician I works to accurately and efficiently complete expectations of assigned shifts and follow outlined standard operating procedures and workflows.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately fill and prepare medication orders for distribution to patients and patient care areas. Maintain medication inventory, rotating stock regularly and checking for expired medications.
  • Deliver medications appropriately to designated areas based on medication storage requirements.
  • Maintain competence in all department policies and standards of practice and comply with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other pharmacy staff members to provide high quality pharmacy services.
  • Manage multiple priorities and adapt to complete all duties of assigned shifts.
Education / Experience
  • High school diploma or GED (required).
  • At least 1 year of pharmacy experience (required).
Licenses, Registrations and Certifications
  • CPhT certification (required).
  • PA Pharmacy Technician License (required).
