Full Time
This position is located at 1800 Lombard Street, Philadelphia, PA.
The position is a full-time rotating shift position 7:00am-3:30pm, 9:00am-3:30pm, 11:30am-8:00pm, and 2:30pm-11:00pm. The position includes 1 weekend every 5th, 1 summer and 1 winter holiday, and a rotation through the MLK holiday and Juneteenth holiday. The weekend and holiday hours are 8:30am-5:00pm.
Under the direct supervision of Registered Pharmacists, the Pharmacy Technician is responsible for tasks including assisting in preparing and filling medication orders and medication carts; compounding sterile and non-sterile preparations; distributing medication to patients; performing nursing unit QA inspections; maintaining stock levels in all hospital areas.
High School Diploma or equivalent and Certified Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) are required. Candidates must be able to perform dosage calculations, communicate effectively with hospital personnel, perform basic office tasks, maintain proficiency in pharmacy computer systems, automated dispensing software, and technical equipment, and possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and the Internet. Candidates are also expected to pass hospital and government validation exams. Prior hospital or retail pharmacy experience and a basic knowledge of drugs and dosages are preferred.
