Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- 1 year of experience as Pharmacy Technician preferred
- Current FL Registered Pharmacy Tech or Florida licensed pharmacy intern
- Pharmacy Tech Certification (CphT) preferred
- Pharmacy knowledge includes medical terminology and prescription drug names
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal communication, organizational skills, PC skills, analytical skills, and clerical skills
Responsibilities
- Count, package, and label unit doses for inspection by pharmacist
- Assist pharmacists as directed, including filling orders and preparing labels
- Perform quality control and auditing to ensure medications are available to caregivers
- Prepare IV mixtures and operate automated systems
- Maintain pharmacy inventory and perform clerical duties
- Contribute to hospital improvement to meet core measures and service excellence goals
- Follow guidelines for reporting significant medical errors or unanticipated outcomes in patient care
