Responsibilities

• Updates and registers patients in Pharmacy database.
• Assists Pharmacist in filling/refilling of prescriptions.
• Assists Pharmacist in processing prescription insurance claims, including reconciliation.
• Files and maintains prescriptions in a neat and orderly fashion.
• Answers incoming phone calls from patients for prescription refill requests and related matters.
• Assists patients in enrollment into Pharmacy assistance programs.
• Receives and processes drug orders coming into Pharmacy.
• Assists Pharmacist in prepackaging drug items.
• Maintains dispensing stock of prescriptions drugs and supplies.
• Maintains adequate levels of Pharmacy office supplies.
• Maintains Pharmacy department and dispensing equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Maintains security over Pharmacy inventory.
• Assists other departments with patient, prescription or billing data.
• Abides by accreditation standards in Mail Order Pharmacy and Specialty Pharmacy.
• Attends work as scheduled.

Job Details:

Job Location: Louisa, VA 23093, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: $16.00 - $21.73 Hourly, PURPOSE: To assist the Pharmacist(s) in assuring the availability, quality, continuity and appropriateness of pharmacy services. This assistance must be in accordance with the Board Regulations of the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Pharmacy as adopted 1975 (Regulation 12. l-D) and within the bounds of this job description and the Pharmacy Department Policies and Procedural manual.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Updates and registers patients in Pharmacy database.
• Assists Pharmacist in filling/refilling of prescriptions.
• Assists Pharmacist in processing prescription insurance claims, including reconciliation.
• Files and maintains prescriptions in a neat and orderly fashion.

• Assists Pharmacist in maintaining proper security over Pharmacy inventory.
• Assists other departments in obtaining necessary patient, prescription or billing data that would enhance the Center's flow of patient care and billing.
• All CVHS Pharmacy staff will abide by the standards of accreditation in Mail Order Pharmacy and Specialty Pharmacy.
• Attends work as scheduled
