Job summary

Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the hospital-wide unit dose drug distribution system under direct supervision by the Director/Pharmacy or a Pharmacist. Applicants must be registered with the Florida Board of Pharmacy and be preparing to take the Tech 1 test.

A high school diploma (or equivalent) and completion of FLBOP-approved technician training are required. CPhT credential within one year post-hire is preferred; 6–12 months of pharmacy experience

Qualifications

• Must be registered with the State of Florida and preparing to take the Tech 1 test.
• High school diploma (or equivalent) and completion of a Florida Board of Pharmacy approved pharmacy technician training program.
• FLBOP registration in accordance with Florida Statutes, Title XXXII (Regulations of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 465 (Pharmacy), Section 014 (Pharmacy Technician).
• CPhT credential from the PTCB or the NHA within one year post-hire.
• Six (6) to twelve (12) months of pharmacy experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision of the Director/Pharmacy, Supervisor/Pharmacy, or a Pharmacist, performs a variety of technical and clerical duties for the hospital-wide unit dose drug distribution system.
• Direct Supervision: a pharmacist reviews the technician’s work for completeness and accuracy, or the technician performs tasks with inherent checks built into the work.
• Maintains confidential reports, enters and retrieves data using the computer system, fills automated medication dispensing systems, procures and fills requests for pharmaceutical supplies, and delivers supplies to patient care areas.
