Job summary

Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare is seeking a licensed pharmacist to fill and dispense medications, provide clinical services, and support patient care within our hospital system in Florida.

The role involves collaborating with physicians, nurses and the health care team to optimize therapy, manage medication safety, and participate in specialty areas such as infectious disease and oncology.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy from an accredited institution.
• Preferred: Advanced degree or enrollment in advanced degree program.
• Preferred: 1+ years experience as a registered pharmacist in a hospital setting.
• Current Florida pharmacist license or eligible for licensure in Florida.

Responsibilities

• Fill and dispense medication orders with proper handling and storage.
• Act as information resource on medication therapy for patients and staff.
• Plan and schedule pharmacy staff work assignments.
• Provide clinical pharmacy services to optimize patient therapy.
• Collaborate with care team in areas like infectious disease, oncology, and cardiovascular.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT

Responsible for the filling and dispensing of medication orders including the proper handling, usage, and storage of drugs in the pharmacy. Maintains standards set by the department and translates policies and procedures into the daily operation of the pharmacy. Responsible for acting as an information resource to patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication therapy and drug-related information and literature. Plans and organizes work schedule of supportive personnel and pharmacists, as required. Under the direction of the Clinical Coordinator and the Pharmacy Director, optimizes patient medication therapy by providing comprehensive clinical pharmacy services. Works collaboratively with the health care team to accomplish goals. Assignments may include but not limited to the following specialty areas: infectious disease, oncology, cardiovascular, medication safety, and Pharmacoeconomics.

Supervises:

Pharmacy Technician I and II

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO APPLY

Required Education:

Minimum: Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy from an accredited institution. Preferred: Advanced degree or enrollment in advanced degree program.

Required Experience:

Preferred: 1+ years experience as a registered pharmacist in a hospital setting.

Required Certification/License/Registry:

Current Florida pharmacist license or eligible for licensure in Florida.
