Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, MO is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II to assist pharmacists with preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications. This part-time position (24 hrs) provides exposure to a busy hospital pharmacy and growth under a licensed pharmacist.

The role emphasizes compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, accuracy, teamwork, and ongoing training to ensure safe patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Active Missouri Board of Pharmacy registration as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit by first day of work, including fingerprints for FBI background check.
• 1 year of relevant pharmacy experience preferred but not required.
• Successfully complete pharmacy department orientation.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by PTCB.

The Pharmacy Tech II follows applicable standards and federal, state & local laws and regulations for the care and safety of the customers and patients served.

• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Experience: 1-year relevant pharmacy experience preferred but not required.
• Other: Successfully complete pharmacy department orientation.

Tech II:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Experience: 1-year relevant pharmacy experience required; 2 years preferred.
• Certifications: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).

Tech III:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Experience: 3-year relevant pharmacy experience required
• Certifications: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
