Job summary

Catholic Health on Long Island seeks a Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining inventory, and patient records under supervision. This role supports safe, effective medication use in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent; College courses desirable.
• Pharmacy Technician Certificate required.
• New York State License required.
• Basic computer skills.
• 2–3 years pharmacy experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Replenishes floor stock medications on nursing units accurately, fills floor stock requests accurately and maintains appropriate documentation
• Identifies medications no longer in use in the Operating Room, returns medications to pharmacy, and appropriately manages such medications
• Assists in ordering, receiving, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals and supplies in appropriate locations
• Rotates stock to ensure use before expiration date
• Maintains logs, records, and other required documentation accurately. Files documentation in appropriate locations
• Completes and documents monthly inspections of all assigned medication storage areas in a timely and comprehensive manner. Inspection assignments are completed without supervisor intervention
