Job summary

Catholic Health in Long Island is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining inventory, and updating patient records under supervision. Required are High School Diploma or Equivalent, Pharmacy Technician Certificate, New York State License, and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Replenishes floor stock medications on nursing units accurately, fills floor stock requests accurately and maintains appropriate documentation
• Identifies medications no longer in use in the Operating Room, returns medications to pharmacy, and appropriately manages such medications
• Assists in ordering, receiving, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals and supplies in appropriate locations
• Rotates stock to ensure use before expiration date
• Maintains logs, records, and other required documentation accurately. Files documentation in appropriate locations
• Completes and documents monthly inspections of all assigned medication storage areas in a timely and comprehensive manner. Inspection assignments are completed without supervisor intervention

Job Details

The Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. Pharmacy Technicians work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. They do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist.

Salary Range

USD $38.19 - USD $38.19 /Hr.

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience.
