Job summary

Catholic Health in New York is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining inventory, and updating patient records at Good Samaritan University Hospital.

Under supervision of a licensed pharmacist, you will replenish floor stock, assist in ordering and storing pharmaceuticals, rotate stock, and complete monthly storage inspections, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent; college courses desirable.
• Pharmacy Technician Certificate required.
• New York State License required.
• Basic computer skills.
• 2–3 years pharmacy experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Replenishes floor stock medications on nursing units accurately, fills floor stock requests accurately and maintains appropriate documentation.
• Identifies medications no longer in use in the Operating Room, returns medications to pharmacy, and appropriately manages such medications.
• Assists in ordering, receiving, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals and supplies in appropriate locations.
• Rotates stock to ensure use before expiration date.
• Maintains logs, records, and other required documentation accurately. Files documentation in appropriate locations.
• Completes and documents monthly inspections of all assigned medication storage areas in a timely and comprehensive manner. Inspection assignments are completed without supervisor intervention
