Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Pharmacy Technician, Non-Certified, to assist pharmacists with prescription processing, insurance billing, and inventory. You will interact with customers, collect patient information, and help prepare medications in a fast-paced retail setting.

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, eager to learn, and committed to providing excellent service while pursuing national certification. Vaccination duties may be required where permitted by law.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Working toward licensed technician certification through a national program.
• Previous experience as a pharmacy clerk preferred.
• Vaccination certification required if administering vaccines.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile and learning their names.
• Assist pharmacists in processing prescriptions and insurance billing when appropriate.
• Gather and maintain accurate patient information for prescriptions.
• Prepare and label prescription containers and assist with dispensing.
• Help with inventory, receiving orders, and stock control.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient health information in line with HIPAA.
