The Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician to assist at the MN Veterans Homes Central Pharmacy. We invite you to come serve those who have served our country and their families. The Central Pharmacy provides pharmacy services to our eight Minnesota Veterans Homes located across the state. Our pharmacy is a closed-door pharmacy located on the campus of the Minneapolis Veterans Home with state-of-the-art technology, but also preserves historical military buildings and monuments at our riverside campus.
This position assists registered Pharmacists by conducting routine administrative and technical tasks in a non-retail pharmacy environment. Responsibilities include data entry, processing and filling prescriptions, pre-packing routine medications, generating computer reports, managing inventory, handling phone calls, and operating pharmacy automation equipment. Additional tasks involve ordering and receiving medications, packaging them for delivery, and all work is reviewed by a Pharmacist.

Minimum Qualifications
- Completed vocational/technical program or certification in Pharmacy Technology (Associate in Applied Science degree or Pharmacy Technician diploma) or equivalent; OR
- Possess current national certification as a pharmacy technician; OR
- Completed an employer-based pharmacy training program that includes a minimum total of 240 hours in a one-year period to include both theoretical and practical instruction; OR
- Completed a pharmacy technician training program provided by a branch of the United States Armed Forces or Public Health Service.
AND
- Must have an active Pharmacy Technician registration with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy
- Ability to perform accurate and timely data entry of prescription and inventory records
- Ability to make math calculations with speed and accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of QS1 and DocuTrack (pharmacy processing software)
- Knowledge of pharmacy operations and billing practices of a long-term care pharmacy

This position requires successful completion of the following:
