Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist the pharmacist under supervision in a busy store environment. You will use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions, enter patient data, and support cashiers while upholding Walgreens service standards.

This role emphasizes accurate medication handling, adherence to policy, inventory support, and coordination with healthcare providers. Prior retail or Walgreens experience and PTCB certification are a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
• Six months of experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Prior Walgreens experience preferred.
• Good math skills to fill prescriptions accurately (counting, measuring, weighing).
• Good computer skills.
• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• PTCB certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy and related duties.
• Enter patient and drug information in pharmacy systems; assist with cashiers as needed.
• Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting and pouring medications; verify accuracy and interactions.
• Assist with scheduling and workload management for staff.
• Process manual third-party claims and perform clerical duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager.
• Assist with inventory management: ordering, unpacking, checking, storing Rx drugs.
• Support clinical services and coordination with Walgreens healthcare clinics and external providers.
• Develop and maintain relationships with local medical community to support growth opportunities.
• Maintain clean, stocked Pharmacy Department and adhere to company policies.
• Complete special assignments as requested.
