Job summary

Sentara Careplex in Hampton, VA is hiring a PRN/Flexi Pharmacy Technician to support care delivery and dispensing under a licensed pharmacist. The role requires a Virginia Pharmacy Tech license and CPhT certification.

Under supervision, you will fill and deliver medications, ensure stock, triage questions, operate pharmacy equipment, and adhere to quality and legal standards. High school diploma required; one year experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Virginia Pharmacy Tech License is required.
• CPhT license (NHA/PTCB) required.
• One year pharmacy tech experience preferred.

Sentara is hiring a PRN/Flexi Pharmacy Technician for our Pharmacy at Sentara Careplex in Hampton, VA.

The Pharmacy Technician performs care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.

• Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
• Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
• Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately
• In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
