Job summary

The Queen's Health Systems in Honolulu is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist the Clinical Pharmacist with processing and filling prescriptions and medication orders. You will review orders and patient information in the pharmacy computer system, help maintain inventory, and provide customers with information about medications, health insurance, and related services.

Prior pharmacy tech experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of pharmacy technician program or on-the-job training preferred.
• One year of experience as pharmacy technician or clerk preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to use a computer, type, and operate a calculator.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Clinical Pharmacist in the processing and filling of prescriptions and medication/medical supply orders.
• Reviews and enters orders and patient information into the pharmacy computer system.
• Processes and assists in the maintenance of pharmacy inventory.
• Provides customers/patients with information about medications, health insurance, and other health care related services.
• Files third-party insurance claims on paper and electronically.
