Job summary

Actalent is seeking a fully onsite Pharmacy Technician in Fort Worth, TX. The contract role requires data entry, claims processing, and coordination with providers to ensure accurate prescription processing.

Ideal candidates hold a Texas-registered Pharmacy Technician license, CPhT, and have experience with prior authorizations. Training lasts three weeks, with standard shifts 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. CST or 10:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. CST, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacy Technician certification and Texas State Board of Pharmacy license in good standing.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential (PTCB) preferred.
• Proven data entry experience with fast, accurate typing.
• Experience with claims processing, adjudication, and issue resolution.
• Experience initiating prior authorizations and claim overrides.
• Experience in retail or specialty pharmacy settings.

Responsibilities

• Review referral contents to ensure all information is complete, accurate, and appropriate for processing.
• Create detailed patient profiles from scanned or faxed images by accurately entering patient and provider information.
• Conduct an initial check of prescriptions to verify clinical accuracy prior to processing.
• Communicate with providers to clarify prescriptions, resolve missing information, update referral status, and address patient concerns.
• Enter pharmacy benefit information and adjudicate claims to ensure proper processing and payment.
• Investigate and resolve claim issues, including denials, rejections, and discrepancies.
• Initiate prior authorizations or other claim overrides required to secure a payable claim for the patient.
• Identify and secure funds or copay assistance programs for patients when needed.
• Perform high-volume, accurate data entry related to prescriptions, claims, and patient information.
• Handle inbound and outbound phone calls with insurance companies, prescribers’ offices, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and gather information.
• Apply retail or specialty pharmacy experience to support efficient and accurate prescription processing.
• Collaborate with team members to meet performance goals and deliver excellent service to patients.
• Maintain compliance with Texas State Board of Pharmacy regulations and uphold professional standards at all times.
• Perform other day-to-day pharmacy technician tasks as assigned to support overall pharmacy operations.

Essential Skills

• Active Pharmacy Technician certification and license in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP).
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential, such as PTCB certification.
• Proven data entry experience, with the ability to type quickly and accurately.
• Claims processing experience, including adjudication and issue resolution.
• Experience initiating and managing prior authorizations and claim overrides.
• Experience in retail or specialty pharmacy settings.
• Comfort working on the phone for significant portions of the day, including speaking with insurance companies and doctor offices.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling patient and provider information.
• Ability to work onsite Monday through Friday with either a 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. or 10:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. schedule, and to complete a three-week training period from 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
• Capability to perform core pharmacy technician tasks beyond filling or compounding, with a focus on data entry and claim-related work.

Work Environment

This is a fully onsite role in an office-based pharmacy setting in Fort Worth, Texas, with no hybrid or remote options. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, with a choice of either 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. CST or 10:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. CST. Training lasts three weeks and runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. CST; candidates must be able to commit to this training schedule and remain flexible for either shift afterward. You will work at your own cubicle equipped with a desk that offers both sitting and standing options, and you may personalize and decorate your workspace to your preference. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
