Job summary

ChenMed, LLC is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Retail to support pharmacy operations, assist with prescription processing, and mentor other technicians. The role emphasizes accuracy, patient interaction, and compliance with regulations. Training and ongoing education are part of the position.

The successful candidate will handle inventory, assist with claims, and work under the supervision of a Pharmacist to ensure high-quality patient care. A valid Pharmacy technician license is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of ChenMed and JenCare products, services, standards, policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of pharmacy law and medical terminology.
• Strong interpersonal skill and well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
• Good math and analytical skills.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and be flexible.
• Excellent organization skills and detailed oriented.
• This position may require travel nationwide for training and support purposes as needed.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and complies with the Pharmacy Technician Code of Conduct.
• Greets healthcare providers and patients by in person or phone; answers questions and refers to Pharmacist.
• Maintains pharmacy inventory and stock levels; places and expedites orders; verifies receipt; removes outdated drugs.
• Maintains knowledge of asset protection techniques, creates claims for order errors and damaged goods.
• Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Uses pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information; verifies accuracy and checks for interactions.
• Reports prescription errors to Pharmacist and follows policies for quality improvement.
• Follows government regulations including HIPAA, Medicare and Co-pay requirements.
• Engages patients by offering assistance and addressing questions for positive experience.
• Processes sales on register and handles cash as required.
• Directs and assists team members to maintain workflow and deadlines.
• Processes third-party reimbursement claims accurately to obtain payment.
• Earns and maintains certification/licensure as required; attends training and continuing education.
• Maintains knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy.
• Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
