Qualifications

• Completion of high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program or six months of experience.
• Enrollment in an undergraduate pharmacy program in good standing is acceptable.
• Must be registered with the PA State Board of Pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Fills floor stock requests accurately.
• Labels bulk drugs correctly.
• Performs basic pharmaceutical calculations.
• Understands stability concepts for parenteral products.
• Interprets physician orders correctly in context with other orders.
• Performs monthly medication storage area inspections.
• Selects drugs from stock as ordered under pharmacist supervision.
• Maintains aseptic technique when preparing sterile products.
• Repackages drugs into unit-dose containers.
