Job summary

UPMC Harrisburg is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician Senior to join our night shift team. This role supports medication preparation and distribution in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Responsibilities include filling orders, sterile compounding, distribution, and training other technicians, with emphasis on accuracy and regulatory compliance. We offer a competitive wage and comprehensive benefits package, with an 8-night-on/6-night-off schedule (10-hour days, 8:00 PM–6:00 AM).

Qualifications

• Completion of high school diploma or equivalent or completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program.
• Three years of previous pharmacy technician experience.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Filling: assist in filling medication orders with proper labeling, counting and stocking; initial and date products as required.
• Sterile product area: prepare TPN solutions with accuracy and aseptic technique.
• Sterile product area: prepare cytotoxic and hazardous drugs using proper aseptic technique.
• Distribute medications including cassettes and emergency carts; handle controlled substances per policy and laws.
• Procure and maintain inventory; maintain records and compliance with regulations.
• Train other Pharmacy Technicians in various areas of the department.
• Provide information to hospital personnel, patients and visitors; refer inquiries to Staff Pharmacists.
