Job summary

Guardian Pharmacy, LLC is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our San Diego, CA team in a 100% on-site capacity. The role emphasizes cycle processing, prescription entry, and collaboration with doctors to ensure timely deliveries.

Qualifications

  • Current pharmacy technician license/registration as required by state law.
  • High school diploma or GED, as required by state regulations.
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB) preferred.
  • Pharmacy technician or related experience preferred; motivated beginners with the required pharmacy technician license are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong computer skills; experience with pharmacy operating systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Enter new and refill prescriptions into the pharmacy operating system accurately and efficiently.
  • Cycle pharmacy activities, including cycle flashing, resynchronization, refill advance requests, and cycle medication processing.
  • Review prescriptions and requests for accuracy and completeness, identifying and addressing potential issues before they become errors.
  • Receive, evaluate, process, and follow up with doctors’ offices regarding refill requests.
  • Contact doctors’ offices and other appropriate parties to obtain information needed to keep prescriptions moving.
  • Triage incoming fax prescriptions and ensure they are processed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate computer notes, cycle-fill coding, and documentation.
  • Calculate and/or verify appropriate dosage information based on the prescription.
  • Develop proficiency with pharmacy systems, including document imaging and pharmacy operating systems.
  • Communicate with customers by phone in a caring, professional, and courteous manner, routing calls appropriately when needed.
  • Stay organized and ensure assigned prescriptions and cycle tasks are completed within established deadlines.
  • Learn and maintain the cycle process to help ensure medications are prepared in time for scheduled deliveries.
  • Maintain records for cycle medications, fill requests, renewals, and new cycle orders.
  • When needed, assist with additional pharmacy activities such as filing completed orders, packaging medications, inventory, profiling orders for medical records, and filling processed prescriptions for dispensing.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
