Job summary

Saliba's Extended Care Pharmacy in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our growing team. You will support facilities by taking orders, answering questions, and directing calls to the proper departments. Schedule: Sunday - Thursday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 hourly. Requirements include an active Arizona pharmacy technician license and strong customer service skills in a call-center environment.

Qualifications

• Active Arizona pharmacy technician license required.
• 2+ years of related experience; call center or pharmacy customer service preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with pharmacy operations systems and Docutrack.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls from facilities promptly and professionally.
• Create telephone orders for refills and new orders; triage to Order Entry.
• Process refill orders in the pharmacy system and handle routine questions.
• Follow up with customers and relay information to appropriate departments.
• Take credit card information over the phone for payments.
• Coordinate with Medical Records for resident information updates.
• Assist with orders from Doctor's offices and triage to queues.
• Review daily faxes and ensure OE and medical records queues are updated.
• Link delivery sheets into Docutrack and scan prescriptions as needed.

Position Details:

Requirements:

• Active Arizona pharmacy technician license required
• Call center or phone-based customer service experience preferred

Provide excellent customer service to the facilities in taking orders, answering questions, referring information and phone calls to the appropriate departments.

Essential Job Functions (include the following):

• Answering phone calls from facilities in a timely manner while being professional and courteous
• Creating telephone order for refills, new orders, and/or backup and triaging into the appropriate queues for Order Entry staff to complete.
• Refill orders in pharmacy computer system if facility calls and request (if not complicated)
• Follow up with customers as needed (if you told a customer you would return their phone call, call them back in a timely manner)
• Answering facility questions or referring them to the proper resource for answer
• Take Credit Card information over the phone for payments
• Work with Medical Records to update on resident information, or anything else that is changed. Make telephone orders for medical records and send to appropriate queues for medical records.
• Take orders from Doctor's offices and triaging to appropriate queues.
• Check assigned facility faxes daily; any issues, contact Order Entry
• Link delivery sheets into Docutrack.
• Check original prescriptions sent in tote or by mail, scan into Docutrack and link. If they haven't been completed leave note for OE to address.
• Other essential functions and duties may be assigned as needed

Education and/or Certifications:

• High School Diploma or GED, required
• Pharmacy Technician license/certification/registration (per state requirements); National Certification preferred (PTCB), preferred

Skills and Qualifications:

• 2+ years of related experience (advanced degree may substitute for experience)
• Advanced computer skills; pharmacy operations system experience preferred
• Ability to work independently and deliver to deadlines
• Ability to solve problems with minimal direction
• Great attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment working on multiple tasks simultaneously, while adhering to strict deadlines
• Quality minded; motivated to seek out errors and inquire when something appears inaccurate
