Job summary

Actalent, Inc. is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for an onsite role in Cary, NC. The incumbent will support pharmacy operations, handle patient communications, and assist with claim processing in Biologics MIS.

Preferred candidates hold a CPhT certification, have experience with prior authorizations, and can navigate insurance types. This is a contract-to-hire position with weekday shifts.

Job description

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in simplifying access to medication and delivering personalized care to patients, particularly those with rare diseases. The position involves a range of responsibilities centered around pharmacy operations and patient interactions, all within an onsite office setting.

Responsibilities

• Recognize and effectively communicate about various insurance types and determine their appropriate utilization.
• Enter all communication and documentation into the Biologics Management Information System (MIS).
• Assist with projects such as yearly reverification.
• Communicate with patients to gather appropriate insurance information.
• Triage prescriptions to preferred pharmacies or HUB providers when Biologics is unable to serve the patient.
• Process pharmacy claims in Biologics MIS and understand claim responses.
• Manage inbound calls from patients, clients, physicians, and payors regarding patient updates and services provided.
• Identify and report adverse events and product complaints to clinicians.
• Manage and respond to internal written communications and requests received via chat or email.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is preferred.
• Experience with prior authorizations.
• Ability to recognize and communicate insurance types.
• Proficiency in data entry and pharmacy claim processing.
• 1+ years of related experience.
• Minimum of an associate degree or equivalent experience with 3+ years of related experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in retail pharmacy and call center environments.
• Registered Technician status required.
• Potential for growth and becoming a permanent employee.

This is an onsite position located in Cary, NC, within a professional office environment. The work schedule is Monday to Friday with shifts ranging from 9am-6pm, 10am-7pm, or 11am-8pm EST. The facility is closed on weekends and major holidays. There is no direct patient contact.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cary, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.50 - $22.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
